Trellis for greenery
This wire rope mesh structure serves as a shade canopy for the atrium of the Oranienschule in Wiesbaden. The expansive trellis provides support for perennial climbing plants, offers shade in the summer, and acts as a heat buffer. and rain.

The support structure consists of two central masts approximately 8.0 meters high, eight lower-point masts, and two lower-point guy wires. The outer lower points are guyed at the rear behind the parapet and anchored by tension rods.
The shape of the net is defined by the ridge cable running over the high points and the circumferential edge cables. In between, the cable net—composed of individual cables—spans with a mesh size of approximately 60 x 60 cm. The three-dimensional net area of 300 m² spans a paved courtyard area of approximately 250 m².
Special clamping plates were developed to secure the cables to the ridge cables; these allow for readjustment on-site but do not slip under load. During detailed planning, the exact positions for each cable were determined, and individual connection points on the corner plates were designed.
