Sunshade for playground
This umbrella is specially designed for use in busy public spaces such as playgrounds and schoolyards. Its innovative design deliberately breaks with classic, clean lines and its playful shape encourages movement and play.
This design is an attempt to combine various aspects such as functionality, aesthetics, safety, and sustainability in a basic concept.
The umbrella is available in different sizes:
- Size S: 5 m diameter and 20 sqm covered area
- Size M: 8 m diameter with 50 sqm covered area
- Size L: 10 m diameter with 78 sqm covered area
A textile skin made of durable polyester fabric is stretched over a ring, forming a curved, chalice-shaped structure. The upper edge of the membrane fabric is attached to the steel structure by a garland with individual arched edge straps.
Depending on the time of day and the incidence of light, this upper garland casts a shadow on the lower part of the membrane – the umbrella becomes a flower. The open membrane eyes around the mast complete the image of a flower without becoming too figurative.
Special advantages of this umbrella
Material: We recommend a lightweight fabric material with high translucency that still protects against UV radiation and is highly UV-resistant and durable. The material meets the requirements of fire class B1, is flame-retardant, and also has a dirt-repellent PVDF coating.
The membrane color can be customized upon request.
Protection against vandalism: The vertical mast makes it difficult for children playing to climb the structure. The height of the umbrella can be individually adjusted.
Low-maintenance construction: Balls or other objects fall through the openings in the funnel and do not collect on the screen. Leaves and other debris are washed away by the rain. The opening at the screen mast allows the membrane to be easily cleaned, even inside the funnel.
